Opening times

4pm – 10pm weekdays
10am – 7pm weekends

Young people from Stromness Academy will act as guides to the MOON and lead walks through the Solar System (using Stromness as a scale model), on weekdays starting at Stromness Museum (on Neptune’s orbit) at 4.30pm, then leaving the Academy for the return trip about 5.15pm.

Three ticketed events during normal opening times will restrict entry:

  • Tuesday 11 September 4pm – 5pm Mr Boom, the Man from the Moon – children’s show – tickets available from oisf.org/oisf/tickets
  • Friday 14 September 7pm – 8pm Supporters and sponsors reception – tickets will be allocated by skyranMOON
  • Sunday 16 September 2pm – 5pm Classic Album Sunday: ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ – tickets from the Sound Archive

From 7pm – 8pm on most weekdays there will be free talks or events to which all are welcome.

Saturday mornings 8 and 15 September will be ‘family days’ with extra activities for children.
